QSTONE slabs are not hazardous when shipped and/or after the slabs are installed at the end user. However fabrication/processing of slabs, which includes cutting, polishing, sanding and drilling, generates silica dust which may cause silicosis, lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and kidney disease.

DANGER RELATED TO DUST GENERATION: Causes damage to lungs through prolonged or repeated exposure, may cause lung cancer if inhaled, respiratory tract and eye irritation.

THIS DISEASE IS PREVENTABLE THROUGH APPROPRIATE WORKSAFE PRACTICES.

Safety lnstructions: QSTONE highly recommends fabricators and installers strictly comply with health and safety regulations. Wherever this product is fabricated a silica control environment should be in place in accordance with Worksafe best practices, laws and regulations.

Exposure to dust must be below the exposure limits set by local regulations.

Prevention: Workers need to read and full understand all safety requirements and strictly comply with Worksafe rules and regulations before fabricating the product.

Please ensure, but not limited to;

  • Wear respiratory protection at all times ... Avoid breathing dust while fabricating or installing.
  • Use water when cutting at all times
  • Air filtration systems should be used at all times
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke when fabricating this product

First Aid: Rinse thoroughly if dust makes eye contact. Seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.

Please note: It Is Important when working with crystalline slllca a respiratory health assessment should be done regularly, by a registered practitioner.
